Job description
Ian Williams has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Consultant to join our passionate inhouse Business Development team.
Ian Williams prides itself on self-delivery and its unwavering commitment to producing the highest quality of services to our clients nationally. This starts from day one with our client's first experience of us, the Business Development team, who are instrumental in representing our business from the outset. We are looking for an individual with the same commitment, friendly team spirit and enthusiasm that currently exists within our organisation to help secure and build our expanding business. Does this sound like you?
Benefits:
- Be part of a company profit share scheme (8.78% secured last year)
- Let us help you prepare for your future with an employer pension contribution of up to 3%
- 31 days paid holiday (including bank holidays), but you may want longer or less, so buy up to 5 days or sell up to 3 days per year
- Life Insurance3 x Salary
- Wellbeing at work. Access to an employee assistance programme to support your health and wellbeing, as well as free legal and financial advice.
The Business Development Consultant role :
- Your main responsibility, as part of a small, friendly and motivated team, is to research, generate and maintain a flow of opportunities for Ian Williams
- More specifically, you will be communicating daily over the phone, making outbound ( cold and warm ) calls to key decision makers (existing, lapsed, and new clients) across the UK to successfully secure appointments for our local operational units to attend. This is a targeted telesales role
- You will develop and consistently build relationships internally with Business Managers and the wider Business Development team, as well as externally with prospective and existing clients. Although you will be expected to make targeted outbound calls, this is not a call centre environment
- You will take ownership and accountability for maintaining an accurate and up to date CRM system.
Please note there will be some travel required for team meetings and on occasion for visiting suppliers or client’s premises. Expenses can be claimed.
What will you bring to the Business Development Consultant role?
- Experience of working within a sales and/or a customer service targeted environment; someone who is used to making outbound calls and performing to targets. This could be gained from a telesales, account management, or any customer service focused role that specifically requires you to build long term relationships via the telephone.
- You’ll describe yourself as an effective communicator with an engaging telephone manner , someone who is genuinely passionate about delivering a high level of customer service internally and externally.
- You’ll have a keen interest in construction, maintenance and/or refurbishments. We want to hear from people who truly care about the services we provide.
- A focused, engaging, flexible, driven person and, most importantly, a team player . We know that the key to our success in BD is to support each other to meet targets, ultimately impacting the business growth long term so that everyone can share in your success.
- A whole lot of resilience with the strength of character and the determination to succeed . It is all about the person and their behaviours at Ian Williams; the more you put in, the more you get out!
