Position: SEND Teacher
Location: Primary school in Colchester
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate SEND Teacher to join our dedicated team in supporting children with diverse learning needs. As a SEND Teacher, you will play a crucial role in creating inclusive classroom environments, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual learning styles, and providing tailored support to help every child reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with special educational needs and disabilities, in collaboration with the SENCO and multidisciplinary team.
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students, fostering a love for learning and promoting academic progress.
- Utilize a range of teaching approaches, resources, and assistive technologies to support students' learning and overcome barriers to achievement.
- Collaborate closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure holistic support and effective communication regarding students' progress and development.
- Maintain accurate records of students' progress, assessments, and interventions, using data to inform teaching strategies and support decision-making processes.
- Contribute to the wider school community by participating in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events, promoting a culture of inclusivity and collaboration.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
- Strong understanding of SEND legislation, policies, and best practices in inclusive education.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a reflective approach to teaching practice.
- Creativity, resilience, and a passion for supporting the holistic development of children with SEND.
