As a leading education establishment you will be part of a experience finance team willing to offer support and guidance. Due to a re-structure, the role will be supporting the finance manager in daily transactional tasks.

Your new role
Responsibility for the day to day management of financial processes in line with the Finance and Operations requirements.

• Ensure budget software is accurately updated with staffing information to meet budget-setting deadlines
• Prepare estimations and information for non-pay related budgets to support budget setting.
• Communicate budget information to stakeholders as appropriate

Budget Monitoring

• Prepare non-pay related information related to actual expenditure to support the central finance function
• QA monthly financial reports to ensure finance system accuracy
• Support communication to budget holders to review budget spend regularly throughout the year
• Monitor budgets

Month End

• QA finance software in relation to bank, petty cash and purchasing card
• Maintain debtor and creditor ledgers
• Ensure contracts register is accurately updated before month-end submission
• Ensure accurate records are kept for compulsory disclosures

Procurement, Expenditure and Income

• Regular review of all non-pay related budget headings
• Support follow up actions for overall budget review process
• Support any tender/procurement exercise as required
• Process orders, good receipts and invoices
• Regular monitoring of supplier statements
• Keep accurate records of daily transactions
• Liaising with staff to resolve procurement and delivery queries
• Preparation and processing of petty cash transactions, cash handling and cash balancing
• Preparation of cash for banking

What you\'ll need to succeed
You will have a minimum of 2 years of finance experience, including budgetary control, invoicing, creditor and debtor ledgers. Previous experience of working in finance within an educational setting would be an advantage.
