Location: Corby, East Midlands, GB

Job Title: Metal CNC / Turning Machinist in Corby

Salary: £36,779 per annum (including 15% shift allowance, rising to £37,586 per annum following successful completion of probationary period).

Acorn by Synergie is currently seeking a Metal CNC / Turning Machinist for their client in Corby.

You must have experince working with metal.

What you will do:

The Engineering Shop provides services and support for their tube manufacturing operations. The Machinist will be responsible for machining one off and small batch components or plant equipment from engineering drawings or to internal specifications and standards. The job holder will need to work 8 hour shifts, Monday to Friday. The shift pattern covers days, backs and nights on a weekly rotation.

What you will need:

In order to be considered for the Turning Machinist role, you will possess the following qualifications, skills and attributes:

• Time served having completed a relevant recognised apprenticeship or demonstrable competence by experience
• NVQ level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent or demonstrable competence by experience
• Candidates must be experienced in setting and operating CNC lathe
• Candidates must be experienced with CNC programming; including understanding and editing of programs. Fanuc experience preferable but training can be provided
• Advantageous to have experience in the manual operation of lathes, milling machines and general workshop machinery
• Be capable of interpreting technical drawings and standards,
• Competence in using measuring equipment e.g. calipers, micrometers
• Be able to complete manual tasks up to 25kg in weight
• Must have a valid driving license
