Job description
We are seeking a School Shop Sales Assistant to work at our campus in Glastonbury. As a vital team member, you will handle sales to pupils, parents, staff, and school departments.
Your diverse activities will include presenting merchandise in an appealing manner, ensuring accurate pricing, and providing assistance with lost property. The role will actively involve you in tasks such as stock checks, facilitating pupil uniform kit outs, and engaging in negotiations with suppliers regarding product ranges and pricing.
We are seeking an individual with a flexible, proactive, and professional approach. While prior experience in a retail environment is desirable, we value a friendly demeanour and exceptional customer service skills. The ideal candidate should be a flexible team player capable of working independently.
The salary for the role is £6,534.47 (inclusive of holiday pay) for the following hours: 7.45am to 1.15pm Monday and Friday, 7.45am to 12.15pm for 10 Saturdays during term time, plus 118.5 hours to be worked during non-term time. You will be expected to work an average of 136 hours during non-term and the additional hours will be submitted on timesheets at a rate of £11.10 per hour.
