**MIG Welder **

**Salary:** £14-£17 ph

**Shift:** Full time

Monday - Thursday : 08:00-16:00; Friday 08:00-14:00

**Job Title: MIG Welder**

**Job Summary:** A MIG (Metal Inert Gas) Welder is responsible for using MIG welding techniques to join metal components in various industries such as manufacturing, construction, or fabrication. This role involves interpreting blueprints, setting up welding equipment, and producing high-quality welds.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* **Blueprint Interpretation:**
* Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
* Understand project specifications to accurately perform MIG welding tasks.

* **Material Preparation:**
* Select and prepare metal materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, and shaping.
* Ensure accurate measurements and proper fit-up of components.

* **Welding Operations:**
* Perform MIG welding operations to join metal parts based on project requirements.
* Adjust welding parameters, such as voltage and wire feed speed, for optimal weld quality.

* **Quality Control:**
* Conduct visual inspections of welded components to ensure they meet quality standards.
* Use measuring tools to verify dimensions and check for defects.

* **Welding Equipment Setup:**
* Set up and configure MIG welding equipment, including selecting appropriate gas mixtures.
* Ensure welding machines are in proper working condition.

* **Safety Compliance:**
* Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure work environment.
* Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices.

* **Collaboration:**
* Work closely with other welders, fabricators, and team members.
* Communicate effectively to coordinate workflow and address any welding-related issues.

* **Documentation:**
* Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including materials used and hours worked.
* Complete required documentation for quality assurance and project tracking.

* **Grinding and Finishing:**
* Perform grinding and finishing operations to smooth and clean welded surfaces.
* Ensure a visually appealing and structurally sound finished product.

* **Troubleshooting:**
* Identify and address welding defects or irregularities.
* Collaborate with colleagues to resolve issues and improve welding processes.

**Qualifications and Skills:**

* Proven experience as a MIG Welder in a manufacturing or construction environment.
* Proficient in MIG welding techniques, with the ability to produce high-quality welds.
* Familiarity with different metals and their welding characteristics.
* Strong attention to detail and precision in welding tasks.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

**Education and Certifications:**

* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Welding certification or relevant vocational training in MIG welding is advantageous.

**Physical Requirements:**

* Ability to lift and move moderate to heavy metal materials.
* Comfortable standing for extended periods and working in a metalworking environment.
