Additional Duties & Responsibilities Evaluate and assess patients and their familys needs and treat, support and refer as appropriate Demonstrate advanced knowledge and understanding in the administration of chemotherapy including intravenous access, management of central venous access, venepuncture and management of extravasation Demonstrate advanced knowledge and understanding around the use of SACT within multiple tumour sites, including haemato-oncology. This should include the associated toxicities associated with administration. Contribute to the ongoing development of in-house education and training programmes (including competency based assessment and review). Share skills and knowledge through teaching sessions. Carry out SACT formal assessment for the nurses who have completed the SACT course and UKONS Passport Support the direction of leadership programmes in the development of new clinical roles. Assisting with innovations in oncology. Participate in forums/committees throughout thehospital To continue to develop and consolidate own training programme in line with personal development plan as agreed with line manager. Work closely with the Cancer Pharmacy team to review SACTs protocols in relation to National guidelines and appraise new drugs and training for administration of the new drugs. Link with company product representatives to ensure practice with technology is in keeping with current research findings and product availability.
