Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls is an 8FE 11-16 comprehensive which is part of PolyMAT Academy Trust. PolyMAT is a small and ambitious MAT with a unique family feel. Our vision is ‘Success for Everyone’ and the successful candidate will help deliver this at all levels. We currently have three schools in our Trust: Woolwich Polytechnic School for Boys, a long-successful boys’ school, Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls that opened in 2019, and Bannockburn Primary School, a large successful primary that joined the Trust on 1st November 2023. Our Boys’ School has a flourishing Sixth Form provision which is co-educational and will cater for our girls from September 2024 after they achieve their first set of GCSE results. Our Trust and our schools pride themselves on a culture of high standards delivered through our Values of Care and Unity. We provide a rewarding environment where students and staff feel valued and supported and everyone feels part of the larger family as our schools and departments work very closely together.
We are seeking a deputy head teacher that will help inspire our girls to be the best versions of themselves.
The deputy head teacher will motivate and inspire students, staff, parents and carers and the wider community to ensure every student achieves her full potential and is equipped to take advantage of a range of opportunities. The successful candidate will have substantial previous experience as a senior leader and must have a track record of leading successful teams.
We are particularly looking for candidates that have previous experience in leading areas such as raising standards, curriculum or teaching and learning.
The deputy head teacher will assist the Head of School in working with the local academy committee and the wider community to provide professional leadership, vision and direction for the school. The deputy head teacher will establish a culture that promotes excellence, equality and high expectations of all and should be flexible and adapt to ever evolving priorities as they arise.
This is an exciting and challenging position which will provide an opportunity for a dynamic, forward-thinking individual to put their skills into practice and contribute to the development of this ambitious school. The ideal candidate will have the talent and motivation to develop towards a Headship in due course.
