Your profile

• Educated to degree level or equivalent in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering. Master’s or Doctorate degree in a relevant field is preferred.
• Understanding of combustion fundamentals related to either power generation or aerospace applications.
• Experimental techniques, and emissions measurement
• Experience of CFD modelling (Star CCM), acoustic modelling (COMSOL) is beneficial
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong work ethic, able to work of own initiative and ability to be proactive.
• Minimum 5 years of design and test experience in rotating machinery or equivalent
• Chartered Membership of an engineering institution will be advantageous.

Your responsibilities

You will be part of the R&D team designing the combustion systems for the Siemens Energy SGT product range. Working primarily on R&D and Technology improvements, but also in support of sales, production and fleet activities. We cover all aspects of Engineering projects, conceptual work, detail design, numerical modelling, high pressure rig testing and Engine testing. Our objective to minimise the impact of gas turbine operation on the environment requires innovative thinking in product development as we drive down emissions and expand our fuel flexibility, particularly focusing on low carbon fuels.
