Job description
Personal Care Assistant required to join a small team to care for a tetraplegic gentleman in St Helens.
I am 41 years old and I have a C4/5 spinal cord injury. I have no use of my body from the chest down and very limited hand function. Role would include:
Bowel care, Catheter care, manual handling and hoist transfer, administration of medication
Personal care (showering, shaving, dressing etc)
General housekeeping (cleaning, laundry, cooking, shopping)
Accompanying me to appointments, events, festivals, gigs etc
This role is for 3 x 12 hour shifts per week (one week days, one week waking nights) with the possibility of more in the future. Some double up shifts, some single. Days are negotiable. The rate of pay is £11 per hour rising to £11.44 in April
Experience in care preferred but not essential. Full training will be given to the right candidate.
