ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re on the hunt for our next shift quality manager. You will join our successful quality team as part of our regional food safety function. 

Do you thrive from a challenge? Are you ready to make continuous improvements and navigate your way through the world of quality? As a quality leader the main duties are to effectively manage the Quality Technicians and the Quality Operators to control & monitor food safety, product quality and GMP compliance. 

You’ll already have a wealth of experience in the quality environment for a successful and fast-paced FMCG business, so we don’t want to spell it out too much. But in a nutshell, you will…


• Support the Quality Manager in setting clear objectives and personal development plans for the Quality Technicians & Operators 
• Adhere to line management duties, e.g. absence etc.
• Be an ambassador for our independent process and product checks
• Confirm the sites adherence to customer standards through auditing of product and operational processes against customer codes of practice
• Understand the site traceability system in order to complete audits, demonstrate compliance and retrieve information for investigation purposes
• Auditing compliance against Quality Management Systems, GMP and HACCP controls
• Calibration of measurement equipment in accordance with schedules and procedures
• Collaborate with the line manager to coordinate day to day activities to deliver improvement of Technical KPIs
• Drive quality assurance spot check to ensure that the product is being packaged correctly against legal and customer requirements
• Support the QA function in completing raw material assessments, sensory assessments, restricted stock reviews and new product development activities
• Deputising for the Quality Manager


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR… .

Our ideal candidate will be someone with proven experience working within an FMCG quality team and will have worked in a similar role with a basic knowledge of technical requirements and Quality & Food safety. You will also have… 


• Knowledge of Quality & Technical systems
• External standards, BRC, customer, legal requirements
• Knowledge of HACCP
• Strong interpersonal skills, build strong customer and internal relationships 
• Proficient PC Skills
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written 
• Demonstrable problem-solving ability
• Resilience, be able to bounce back even on those tough days 
• Accountability to meet commitments 
• Have the capability to influence people on shift and articulate why
• Ability to work autonomously and use initiative, whilst being part of a team
• And a positive attitude to continued learning
• Level 4 HACCP & Level 4 Food Safety (desirable)

WHERE YOU’LL WORK…

You’ll be based at our Scarborough plant in North Yorkshire. We opened this plant back in the swinging sixties, but it’s definitely not stuck in the past. It’s one of the largest French fry factories in the world and after a recent development, it’s also one of the most high tech. Our team of over 300 colleagues work hard to make sure the quality of our products keep our customers returning for more, for now and years to come!

 

WHAT YOU'LL WORK...
The shift pattern is 2x day shifts 7am-7pm, 1 day off, 2x night shifts 7pm-7am followed by 3 days off.
