Job description

A busy yet fun family based in West Brompton, London, seek an experienced, professional, active housekeeper or, even better, nanny/housekeeper, for their 4,500 sq ft home.  The schedule would be Monday through Friday, 8am - 7pm for the nanny/housekeeper (with time for a break during the day) or slightly reduced hours if just a housekeeper.

The role will be varied and is likely to be a mix of housekeeping, some house management, and childcare.  The children are 5yrs and 1.5yrs old, and so only the 1.5yr old will be at home during the day.  Responsibilities will therefore include general care and nursery duties for the infant, tag-teaming with Mum in relation to the baby's needs and activities, cleaning and tidying the home, making beds and changing all linen at least once per week, laundry, ironing, and vacuuming, mopping the floors once or twice per week, cleaning bathrooms, and really anything else that ensures the home remains warm, welcoming, clean and tidy.  Other duties may involve dealing with deliveries and contractors, sourcing and liaising with trades, general errands (including dry cleaning and grocery shopping), and being point person for any requests - you may also be liaising with other staff, so a team-player mentality would be helpful.  
The ideal candidate has a wonderful friendly and warm personality, and is an experienced housekeeper/nanny with excellent attention to detail, and is familiar with London.  A pitch-in attitude is essential, candidates must be comfortable around children, and have previous experience in a fully staffed home.  Please demonstrate initiative, be discreet and have plenty of common sense, happy to work independently and without much oversight or direction.  Bearing in mind the size of the home, candidates should be fit and healthy, and able to manage a large home with a number of staircases!
