An exciting career opportunity awaits Optometrists seeking to join one of the most recognizable opticians in the UK. With a history spanning over 80 years and a growing network of nearly 200 practices, this renowned optician is currently seeking a full-time Optometristin their branch in Rushden.
Known for their commitment to quality service and exceptional product offerings, this optician aims to continue thriving in the coming years. The chosen Optometrist will have the opportunity to contribute to this legacy while enjoying a range of benefits, including a competitive salary of up to £54,000 and a guaranteed annual bonus of £4,000.
The Optometrist will operate within an efficient testing environment, with 25-minute test times and an average of 15 to 16 tests per day. This allows for meaningful patient interaction while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Working hours are scheduled from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Saturday, with no late shifts or work on Sundays.
Responsibilities for the OptometristConducting thorough eye examinations, being attentive to patients’ needs, and demonstrating a strong commercial understanding. The Optometrist will make appropriate recommendations based on the patients’ prescriptions within the consulting room and effectively communicate this information to the Optical Assistant during the handover stage. The Optometrist will also provide expert answers to inquiries, share clinical knowledge with patients and the team, and integrate seamlessly into the close-knit team while exhibiting a genuine passion for their role.
Requirements of the OptometristApplicants for this position must be fully qualified optometrists registered with the General Optical Council (GOC) and up to date with Continuing Education and Training (CET) requirements. Strong clinical skills, a customer-focused mindset, and a proven track record of success are essential. Excellent interpersonal skills and specialized expertise in the field are highly valued. Flexibility and a patient-first approach are crucial attributes for the Optometrist role.
Compensation of the OptometristIn addition to the competitive salary of up to £54,000, the chosen Optometrist will receive a guaranteed annual bonus of £4,000. Other benefits include 33 days of holiday entitlement, the ability to select preferred working days between Monday and Saturday, and coverage of professional fees.
