Job description
Job Description: Essential Duties:
- Interpret geologic data and provides reserve and coal quality information and assessments.
- Assist in the preparation of mine plans and permits in compliance with applicable laws.
- Monitor state and federal drilling permit requirements and protection of reserves.
- Maintain geologic files, data and samples.
- Complete special technical studies as assigned.
- Perform job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, state and federal regulations, established company policies and procedures, and employment law regulations.
Other Duties:
- Assist in administration of computer hardware and software.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledgeable in sedimentary and coal geology, geochemistry and hydrology.
- Advanced skill with personal computers and work stations.
- Advanced knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, serve cad and graphics software.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Some travel will be required.
Education, Training and Experience:
Four-year college degree in Geology or related degree plus related experience.
