Job description

Description

3rd Line Technical Lead

Up to £55k based on experience + benefits

Tamworth based (5 days a week in the office)

The Opportunity for you…

Are you currently working at 3rd line at an MSP, and looking to join a company that offers progression? Then this is the job for you. Due to growth, our client is looking for a 3rd line, Microsoft bias engineer who has aspirations of running a team and to heading into senior management.

As a 3rd line engineering lead, you’ll be based in the Tamworth office for an MSP who provide voice, mobility, data and application integration to over 1000 users. They provide solutions within the public and private sector for clients such as the NHS, schools, EE, 02, and Birmingham City football club.

This role is for a Microsoft bias, 3rd line engineer who may have hit a glass ceiling in their current company and wants to progress their career. Day to day, you’ll be dealing with 3rd line issues, as well as upskilling other members of the team. You’ll need to have a ‘what’s next’ approach by way of figuring out potential issues in a proactive manner to ensure maximum uptime of the various solutions.

Your technical background:

It’s a Microsoft bias technology stack so 3rd line Windows Server, Active Directory (Azure AD would be useful as this is the direction the company are going in), Hyper-V, VMWare & O365.

In a managed services environment, the role is end to end and you’ll get involved through design, deployment and then ongoing service so the broader the background the better, but high level this is a Microsoft Infrastructure based role, followed by solid networking experience.

That service provider background is key, simply due to the variety of technical solutions the business supports so while the role remains hands on for now, the plan will be to keep acting as technical lead but in time, hopefully keep moving towards a potential IT director role.

Normal working week, Monday through Friday with paid overtime outside of hours when required. Benefits include company profit share scheme, private health after qualifying period & 26 holidays plus 8 bank holidays to start.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in you have 3 options
