Sheridan Maine are working in partnership with a manufacturing client based near Ringwood and the New Forest, who are seeking a Financial Controller/Finance Manager to join the business.
As Financial Controller you will take responsibility for the month end process, working collaboratively with the finance team and operational managers.
Key areas of responsibility:
Essential Functions:
- Leading the month end process for the manufacturing division, whilst maintaining timely and accurate financial statements
- Preparation of all monthly statutory requirements, including UK VAT Returns and VAT, EC Sales Listing & Intrastat
- Working closely with the Senior and EU Management Accountants to facilitate and complete the consolidated monthly management accounts
- Work with wider international finance team to consolidate financial filings and prepare inter-company allocations
- Working with the company external auditors to ensure that all annual statutory reporting is completed
- Reconciliation of inter-company balances and preparation of journals
- Reviewing multi-currency cashflows and cashflow forecasting
- Preparation of monthly payroll journals
- Preparation and submission of sales revenue forecasts
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a small team; taking a guidance, knowledge sharing or team leading role as required
- Review and identify ways to continually improve internal processes and controls
- Assist with any additional finance projects as and when required
Experience and Skills required:- Qualified ACCA/CIMA or ACA or equivalent
- Experience in a well-established SME organisation in a senior management accounts or equivalent position
- Ideally you will have recent experience and a understanding of working within a manufacturing background, with a good overall understanding of business operations
- Prior experience of working in a global organisation would be desirable
- Experience of VAT Returns and a understanding of Intrastat and EC Sales requirements
- Proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude and a solutions-focused approach
- Problem-solver, with the ability to work collaboratively with other parts of the business to investigate issues and identify key resolutions
- Strong Excel skills and competent in other Microsoft Office applications
