Job description
Support the Finishing Manager by acting as first point of contact for line employees and all line queries.
Proactively organise and oversee the workflow of the line, ensuring maximum efficiency and production.
Help support and motivate the team to ensure they are meeting their set goals and objectives.

Job Description
Organise workflow and people resources to meet specifications and deadlines, ensuring to monitor production, to ensure on time delivery of materials
Communicate effectively to management and employees
Liaise with other department managers to ensure production and despatch is on target
Provide a daily shift report to the Production Manager
Report any employee absences or lateness to the Finishing Manager
Ensure all batches and documentation are complete through each stage of the process, including reworks and missings
Motivate and enhance performance through training, cross skilling and communication
Ensure all team members abide by Woodland H&S policy and legislation
Ensure all accidents and near misses within your area are investigated to identify root cause and implement countermeasures to prevent reoccurrence
Report all maintenance to management and continue to follow up until complete
Identify areas of improvement and provide recommendations to management to support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives aimed at developing a lean culture, minimising cost, and maximising productivity to ensure quality and on time delivery
Ensure all members of the team adhere to Company Policies and Procedures
Deliver compliance and best practice in the key areas of people management, quality management and health & safety, ensuring all ISO standards are followed and maintained
Seeking to achieve right first-time quality, identifying root cause of production mistakes and feed back to other departments to prevent re-occurrence
Responsible for full security of department premises, including full key holder duties

Essential
Job Experience and Training
· A minimum of 1 years’ experience within a supervisory/leader position
· Experience of leading/supervising and developing people effectively.
· Experience of providing direction, instructions and guidance
· Experience of supporting and motivating a team to ensure that are meeting their set goals and objectives.
Specialist Knowledge
· Experience of working within a fast-paced environment
· Experience of quality checking
Special Skills /Aptitudes
· Able to multi-task and work in a dynamic environment/adjust to change quickly, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
· Good interpersonal and communications skills
· Computer proficiency including Email and MS Office, namely Word and Excel
· Able to remain calm in difficult situations.
· Good attention to detail and able to maintain accuracy
Personal Circumstances
· Willing to do overtime as and when required

· Reliable attendance record
· Good communication skills to enable you to give instructions and manage your team appropriately.
Desirable
Education Attainments
· Maths and English Language Grade C or above (or equivalent)
· A recognised qualification in Leadership or related discipline.
Job Experience and Training
· Proven experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
· Experience of working with product i.e. cabinets furniture would be advantageous.
· Valid forklift license and forklift driving experience.
· Manual handling /First Aid training
