Job description

We are looking for a IB DP Coordinator for our Rome International School.

The Diploma Programme Coordinator is responsible for both pedagogical and administrative leadership within the programme and is the main point of contact between the school and the International Baccalaureate. The Coordinator is responsible for leading the curriculum through working with, and supporting, teachers in the planning and teaching of subjects within the six groups of the programme, as well as the core of Creativity, Activity and Service, the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge.

Responsibilities

In fulfilling the requirements of this post, the MHS IBPD Coordinator will:

● Lead the school through the self-study and visit processes of Evaluation, and ensure the school develops the DP between Evaluation phases

● Ensure all RIS stakeholders understand DP requirements and expectations

● Work with all DP students on course selection, advising as necessary throughout the two years and coordinating the advice of colleagues (e.g. University Counsellor, teachers, tutors)

● Track progress of all DP students, intervening when necessary

● Ensure student adherence to expectations for Academic Integrity

● Support KS5 and MHS pastoral developments and situations as needed

● Oversee the DP Core programmes (EE, CAS, TOK) and the work of their coordinators

● Support all teachers in their delivery of DP courses, keeping them up to date on developments, logistics, requirements, best practice and opportunities for networking with colleagues

● Maintain the assessment calendar for DP student work

● Hold responsibility for organisational interface with IB, managing processes of registration, payments and submission of student work

● Organise and run official and mock exam sessions according to IB procedures

● Fulfill other tasks as reasonably directed within the context of the role.
