Technician, Metal Fabricator Ref: 6071

Based in: Walthamstow
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, PAYE
Package: 24 days holiday; standard employee benefits
Technician, Metal fabricator. To work, as part of a team, on producing signage for a contractor carrying out Highways, Civils and Term Maintenance works. Ability to read fabrication drawings and a knowledge of CAD would be beneficial. Good communication skills needed. Based in the workshop at the depot in Walthamstow. Permanent role. Rate £25,000 to £30,000 PAYE, 24 days holiday, plus standard employee benefits. Working hours 0730-1600, Monday to Friday

You will be working with a variety of sheet metals including, mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel.
This is an opportunity for someone to develop and grow into the role.

You should ideally:
Have a working knowledge of Fabrication drawings.
Have experience working with sheet metal.
Be able to use hand tools.
Be organised and punctual and take pride in your work.
Be a team player, able to work under a stressful environment to meet deadlines.
Have practical experience working in a hands-on capacity.
Be looking for security, longevity, and a good mixture of work.

Your Responsibilities:
Operate a variety of metalworking tools and equipment to cut, shape, fabricate, and assemble components.
Read blueprints and ensure that components conform to specified measurements.
Utilise mathematical calculations to determine the necessary measurements for each component.
Follow safety protocols and procedures.
Help to maintain a clean and organised workspace.
