Job description

This is because the Home Office require individuals to have a set annual earnings threshold of over £21,000 per annum and we are unable to guarantee hours on an ad-hoc basis.

Creative Support is a national, fast growing not-for-profit organisation providing support to individuals with a wide range of care needs. We are currently looking to add a Relief Accommodation Recovery Support Worker to our dynamic mental health team in Bradford, West Yorkshire.

We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated Accommodation Recovery Support Workers to join our teams that work across two accommodation bases in Bradford, West Yorkshire (Oakvale and Hilltop) ensuring positive mental health and housing related support in a personalised way to our service users. If you have excellent interpersonal skills and if you are supportive, proactive, responsible, good at motivating people and listening to others then we would like to hear from you.

The role of an Accommodation Recovery Support Worker includes visiting service users in their own homes or in other settings and offering practical support to enable them to live independently while also offering emotional support in accordance with their individual support plans. At this vibrant service no two days are the same, for example one day you could be helping a service user to complete housing related tasks; the next day you could be assisting someone to access a day service or set up a direct debit to pay their utility bills. This role does not involve delivering personal care.

Your role will include:

• Engaging with individuals and build trusting therapeutic relationships,
• Providing support with household tasks e.g. budgeting, bills, cleaning and cooking,
• To support service users in maintaining their emotional wellbeing and managing their mental health,
• Encouraging service users to engage in a wide range of activities at home or out in the community,
• To support service users in building and sustaining their social networks and enjoying relationships with families, friends and neighbours.

You will be paid on a weekly basis.

Experience of working in the care and support sector is essential for relief roles. It is beneficial if you are a car driver but not essential. Good written communication also important. We appreciate flexibility from all our staff and hence we also can be flexible around working hours it is a large team and we are looking for a diverse range of skills.
As a Creative Support Bank Staff member, you will have access to our free app, which allows you to pick up shifts in any area of the country and provides information on the service, including directions.
