Job Description
WANTED: A mission-driven professional to become a Data / Database Manager for SURFMEPP . The US Navy command Surface Maintenance Engineering, Planning, Program (SURFMEPP) maintains, monitors, and refines Class-wide and Individual-Ship Maintenance Plans for all non-nuclear surface ships to ensure material readiness for the projected service life, develop life-cycle strategies to address system upgrades, and fully implement the Class Maintenance Plan into each surface ship's maintenance schedule and availability planning process.
As a Data / Database Manager for SURFMEPP , you will:

A week in the life of a Data / Database Manager for SURFMEPP :
The Data / Database Manager for SURFMEPP acts as an Lead for data and database manager for the SURFMEPP Program providing maintenance and modernization DATA requirements for surface navy ships to the SURFMEPP chain of command.
- Management of SURFMEPP data
- Improve effectiveness of the database tools and services
- Ensuring all data complies with legal regulations
- Protect and backup information
- Regular reporting to the SURFMEPP Community
- Monitoring database performance
- Improving the technology used
- Building new and maintaining existing databases
- Monitoring data entry procedures
- Troubleshooting
- Navy Data Subject Matter Expert (SME) providing technical review and change management oversight for the collection, reconciliation, compilation, manipulation and display of current and historical data from multiple Surface Warfare enterprise databases to perform analysis and deliver recommendations for class and specific requirements strategies in accordance with maintenance policies and processes.
- Retrieve, catalog and post ship maintenance data to databases as directed in support of standard or special ship class products. Review, analyze and report material concerns from a variety of authoritative sources.
- Analyze current and historical data to identify class trends for use during advanced planning and execution planning.
- Conduct detailed DATA analysis of ongoing ship availabilities to identify areas of concern as related to deferred work, inadequate execution or future programming requirements.
- Coordinate / Communicate with Regional Maintenance Center (RMC) Maintenance Teams, CNRMC, Fleet Staffs, Type Commander

Job Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in any technical or managerial discipline
- 5 years of experience in DATA management to include engineering, financial management, risk management, scheduling, planning and / or oversight task progress.
- 5 years of experience in Department of Defense or U.S. Navy programs or operations
