Role: SCADA Specialist Project Manager

Duration: 6 Months

Location: Warwick (Hybrid) 2 days a week in Office

My client is the UK's largest electricity transmission and distribution business in the UK. They are looking for a SCADA Support Specialist.

Job role:

My client passionate about both operating our network safely and providing a highly reliable quality of supply for our customers. At the heart of achieving these outcomes is the effective control and operation of our network.

The Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system is critical national infrastructure for the real-time operation of the electricity transmission system, ensuring safety and system security standards are always maintained.

As SCADA Power System Engineer, you will Project Manage the electrical Network Model, database and displays to enable the Transmission Network Control Centre (TNCC) Control Room, field Operations and business users to deliver outputs with accurate information in real time.

Key Accountabilities:

• Electrical Network Modelling, database and display update, configuration, delivery, and management in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders.


• Primary interface with the Electricity System Operator (ESO) for co-ordination of database and system change.


• Planning and coordination of system changes in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders


• Lead the SCADA Support team internal and external interface changes to ensure high data accuracy and timely implementation of changes to meet the needs of internal and external customers.


• Support Connections and Commissioning teams with technical issues associated with SCADA database, display and interface change plan ensuring that all work is delivered on time and in full.


• Ensure NGET SCADA databases are maintained and meets all legal and regulatory obligations.


• Ensure the performance, reliability and availability of the ET SCADA system meets agreed service levels through checking and testing, working with all stakeholders to resolve defects and issues.


• Ensure that the SCADA team has a reliable and tested business continuity plan in place that meets NGETs requirements.

About You

With the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across businesses, you will have strong negotiating and dispute resolution skills, as well as strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make complex technical decisions within operational timescales.

An excellent technical understanding of database management, SQL, SCADA systems and change management, coupled with strong analytical skills is key.

You will possess a HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering, data science or numerate discipline or have equivalent experience.

Desirable Experience and knowledge:

• Power networks, electrical theory, and network modelling


• Critical National Infrastructure, risks, and impact on SCADA performance


• Experience in reviewing policy.


• Control Engineer experience.
