We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our adult services programme based in Southbourne supporting seven residents in their early to mid twenties. We have three females and four male who live in their own self-contained flats.
The role:
Aspire in Southbourne supports our seven residents going through the transition in life from living at home to living independently in one way or another. You could be supporting with preparing food, laundry, weekly food shopping/ monitoring healthy eating options, providing advise about work placements and day to day colleague interaction, day trips into the forest, attending workshops and clubs, cake tasting in local cafes or going to watch the football in the Brewhouse. The options are endless!
This role would really suit someone that has a warm but attentive nature, fit and able to be on their feet a lot of the time, and a passion to promoting independence for the people we support.
We are recruiting for males and females, Drivers with access to their own car for work is essential . We are unable to accommodate anyone who does not drive.
We deliver a 24/7 service and have various full and part time hours available to suit your needs. To support the services, shifts would be between the hours of 7am - 10pm, including alternate weekends and sleep ins (sleep ins come with an additional payment)
A support workers day would include:
- Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community
- Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments and medication
- Following the support plan in plan for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy, adapting this as required based on change in behaviour
- Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts, helping to bath and wash, medication
