Teacher of Spanish

The Bishop of Winchester Academy

Location

Bournemouth, Dorset | United Kingdom

Job description

Are you looking to develop your career in a thriving, friendly and supportive standalone academy where staff welfare is a priority? Are you passionate about your students and committed to unlocking their potential in an academy that has high expectations of everyone? If so, The Bishop of Winchester Academy wants you!

We are seeking someone with a passion for promoting the love of the Spanish language and culture, and who is creative and innovative with ideas to inspire our students. You will have the ability to meet the needs of various levels of potential so that our students enjoy learning and achieving their individual goal.

This is an exciting opportunity for either an established teacher or an ECT to inspire the next generation of students to shine. We are a friendly and welcoming academy who will ensure that whatever your career stage, you will be supported by an inspirational and forward-thinking MFL team to develop further language knowledge and enhance your teaching tool kit.  We welcome applications from all teachers including ECTs. So, whether you are looking to reinvigorate your engagement with the profession, or you are new to teaching and want to develop your talent, this is the ideal role and environment for you.

As a standalone academy, we believe in our teachers being able to do the role they are employed to do, which is to deliver engaging lessons to our students. We therefore have an easy and structured behaviour system for our students and you to follow in lessons. After this, we have dedicated teams who intervene and leave you to continue with the job you love doing!

Our Head of MFL would be delighted to take you on a tour of the school and give you the opportunity to meet the department and answer any questions you may have.

As Teacher of Spanish, you will be welcomed into an experienced team of professionals to:

·                    Progress the MFL department to even greater successes

·                    Plan and deliver high quality and engaging lessons that will challenge and inspire our students

·                    Encourage students to have high expectations of themselves and their behaviour

·                    Engage students in study at GCSE Level (A-Level is desirable)

·                    Be a positive role model and supportive mentor to students, making a lasting impact on their lives

The Bishop of Winchester Academy is a thriving Church of England school, recently recognised by Ofsted as prioritising ‘wider opportunities alongside achievement so that pupils “ live life to the full .”’ (Ofsted 2023). Operating from recently refurbished facilities, our shared mission to improve the life chances of all of our students is at the very centre of our work.

We put the welfare of our staff at the heart of everything we do and can offer you:

·                    Generous employer pension contribution at 28.6% basic salary from April 2024

·                    Early Friday finish at 1:00pm

·                    Supportive and practical marking policy

·                    Career development with a bespoke CPD programme

·                    Excellent newly refurbished teaching facilities with free onsite parking and good local public transport links

·                    Employee Assistance Programme and Cycle to Work scheme

·                    Close proximity to beaches and the Jurassic Coast to assist your work life balance
