Job description

Are you an experienced support worker seeking a role in education? Do you thrive from working with and supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder?

A ‘Good’ rated Special School in Leeds is seeking an Autism Support Worker to join their team of support staff. The school caters for children and young people aged 4 to 18 years with Autism, Learning Disabilities, Complex Medical Conditions and Physical Disabilities.

The school is looking for an Autism Support Worker to start a long-term, full-time placement to commence from after February half tern until the end of the academic year.

As an Autism Support Worker, your roles and responsibilities would be:

* To work alongside the class teacher and support staff in the day-to-day running of their lessons.
* To support with behaviour management and to act as a positive role model for the students.
* To help run stimulating and exciting lessons which aim to enhance the sensory skills of the pupils.
* To build strong relationships with the students to help them feel comfortable and safe.
* To support students with their day to day routine including personal care if required.
