Job Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated teaching assistant to work in our primary school. The successful candidate will have experience supporting children within the classroom with accessing learning and developing all skills including social and emotional. St Joseph’s is a supportive and friendly primary school. Roles & Responsibilities: Following the direction of the class teacher and SENCO delivering learning support one to one, small group and in the wider classroom. Support children to access the curriculum so they make progress with their learning. Confident in understanding the different challenges children with additional needs face and have an understanding of strategies which will help them to thrive. Will be empathetic and nurturing. Essential Qualification & Experience: An excellent level of written and spoken English and Maths is required for this role.Ability to operate basic equipmentGood listening skills and enthusiasm to learnAccuracy and ability to follow instructionsThis is a part time position of 8.30am to 1pm daily. Each day worked includes a lunch duty. This post is a permanent position (38.6 weeks per year), 22.5 hours per week (including a lunch duty each day). The salary range (FTE) is £21,269 - £23,312(pro rata); the actual salary range is £11,318 - £12,630.
