Position Information

Edmondson Park Public School is a new school that opened this year 2023 with 44 collaborative teaching spaces catering for 1,000 students in flexible, open, agile learning environments. Our school services a highly aspirational community where the continual focus is quality teaching and high expectations in a thriving learning environment focused on the whole child. At Edmondson Park Public School, teachers as well as students demonstrate flexibility, adaptiveness, and a willingness to be open to new learning reflective of establishing and maintaining collective teacher efficacy in open learning environments that are governed by collaborative practice pedagogies, shared ownership of learning space and where high levels of emotional intelligence, robust conversation and feedback are paramount. Use of the new syllabus documents, literacy and numeracy guides, PLAN2, data concepts, SCOUT, SPARO, WWB and the SEF are core resources that all teachers will use and be across as we work to develop a high impact learning environment where student outcomes are achieved and a growth learning mindset by all stakeholders is a valued asset.

Specific Selection Criteria

  1. Approval and/or experience to teach special education with a focus on improving the learning and wellbeing outcomes for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Mild to Moderate Intellectual Disabilities.
  2. Highly developed organisational, communication and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to work proactively and professionally as part of a collaborative team, including parents/carers, school learning support officers, students, external agencies and the wider school community.
  3. Demonstrated quality classroom practice and highly developed behaviour management skills which enhances student engagement.
  4. Knowledge of curriculum and assessment, with the ability to design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
