Role Overview:

In the role of SEN Teaching Assistant specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder, individuals will play a crucial role in empowering students with ASD to reach their full potential. Responsibilities include:

Tailored Support: Providing personalized assistance to students on the Autism Spectrum, tailoring support to meet the unique needs of each individual, whether they are nonverbal or higher-functioning on the spectrum.

Collaborative Spirit: Working closely with classroom teachers and fellow professionals to develop and implement effective support strategies and personalized learning plans for students with ASD, ensuring a cohesive approach to their development.

Inclusive Learning Environments: Creating nurturing and inclusive spaces where the social, emotional, and academic needs of students with ASD are prioritized, fostering confidence and self-esteem to facilitate both academic and social growth.

Engaging Activities: Designing and leading stimulating activities that cater to the specific interests and abilities of students with ASD, igniting their passion for learning through creative and innovative approaches.

Parental Partnerships: Building strong partnerships with parents and guardians to ensure a collaborative approach to student development, providing guidance, support, and open communication channels to foster positive relationships and continuity of support.

Ideal Candidate Qualities:

We are looking for candidates who possess:

Specialized Expertise: Proven experience and expertise in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, including knowledge of best practices and interventions. Specialized training or qualifications in ASD are highly desirable.
