About us
Travelnest is an Edinburgh-founded travel-tech startup. We help owners of holiday vacation rental properties maximise their performance in a global guest market. Today, with our platform, a host can upload their property details once and be advertised for bookings across 30+ top travel sites including Airbnb, Booking.com , and Expedia.
Our ambition is to become the place a host markets and manages their property, providing everything from channel listings, to operational services, to facilitating direct bookings - a ”super app” for vacation rental owners.

The role
We’re looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to help everyone at Travelnest understand and utilise our data better. This is a pivotal role in how we manage and analyse data, you will be the main interface supporting stakeholders in Product, Marketing, and elsewhere discover insights and make decisions based on data insights.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring the quality of data used in decision making, working with our Senior Data Engineer and Product Engineering teams to transform raw data into impactful business metrics. You’ll build trust in the data published, helping build a culture that looks to data first as a decision making tool.
What you’ll be doing:
- Collaborating with Product teams and stakeholders to understand data needs and provide actionable insights
- Owning the data dictionary including reviewing existing data sets & structures for improved efficiency and utilisation across the company
- Analysing data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimisation or improvement
- Developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, and visualisations
- Contributing to the development and implementation of data governance policies and best practices across the business
- Educating and empowering team members to effectively utilise data resources for decision-making purposes
- Apply knowledge of statistics, data modelling, and advanced mathematics to test hypothesis, identify opportunities and support stakeholders in strategic decision making
What we're looking for
- Proven experience supporting business decisions with data insights in a data science, business intelligence, or analytics role
- Experience with BI tooling (we use Looker)
- Strong SQL and Python skills in the context of data analysis
- Demonstrable experience in highly autonomous, cross-functional teams
- Customer-centricity; you want to solve real problems for real people
- Strong communication skills and an appetite to collaborate across the business
- Pragmatism, favouring narrow scope and frequent iteration
- Eligibility to work in the UK
