Senior Category Manager - Top 4 Grocer

About the Role:
As part of Mission 2025, it is vital we have an in-depth understanding of the category we operate in, how it can grow, how our brands can leverage these opportunities and engage with our customers to bring this to life.
As a Senior Category Manager for our Top 4 Grocer, you will be responsible for leading a team of one direct report and together developing strong customer relationships maintaining our status as one of their valued supplier partnerships.
You will do this through strategic and category through leadership, influencing their category thinking and delivering against our in outlet blueprints at the point of purchase whether that be instore or online.
This is a truly exciting opportunity to take charge of one of Britvic's largest accounts, with a significant focus on driving growth and maximizing market potential.
You'll require robust analytical skills to transform data into actionable insights and enjoy working in a fast-paced FMCG environment. You will possess the ability to story tell and build relationships with our customer, and internally lead data driven decisions to lead category success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategy and development of our annual operating category plans to drive execution against our category vision and point of purchase blueprints.
- Create a robust category roadmap for growth rooted in the right shopper insight to drive action and lead the cross functional team to execute solutions against this
- Set the direction and lead the team to align against the range and space targets for our customer that deliver against outlet blueprints and regularly measure progress against this, effectively managing messages through the business cycle
- Lead inputs into business cases across NPD and EPD with account level information on category and customer marketing opportunities where required
- Evaluate the impact of actions taken & ensure that learnings feed into future business planning
- Build strong customer partnerships leading to delivery of solutions to influence external measure of category success with improved results in the Advantage Group Survey.
- Lead the execution of the category roadmap through range reviews and identifying category initiatives to maximise point of purchase outcomes enabling us to maximise range, primary space, secondary location, availability and macro space, in outlet and online
- Develop relevant category selling stories and tools and lead the development of customer immersions designed to engage customers and influence them to implement category solutions & strategies
- Lead for and manage the delivery of category building initiatives and trials with customers e.g. Fixturisation, Cross Category
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
- Extensive FMCG experience, ideally in grocery, discounters or convenience market
- Category management experience, in an FMCG business, would be ideal.
- Practical experience of category management processes and range review management
- Strategic thinker able to develop clear vision for the category within the customer
- Strong analytical skills – data literate with experienced using multiple data sources such as Nielsen, Kantar, IRI, Dunnhumby and strong understanding of the latest shopper and market insight and trends
- Strong communicator and storyteller (written & presented) with good facilitation skills
- Strong commercial skills across a range of channels and companies
