Your new company
Our client is a long-established Edinburgh property company with interests at all stages of the property lifecycle from development to management. One of their longest standing businesses is a building and trades merchant with a long history of supplying the construction industry around Edinburgh. As they look to develop this business, they are seeking to appoint a new Operations Manager to lead this business and take it forward.
Your new role
As Operations Manager, you will be fully responsible to the Directors of the business and will take a pivotal role in the strategic and operational direction of the business. You will run all operations from managing the team of dedicated and experienced employees to communicating with and developing the client base of this business. A core part of the role will be to develop and enhance the sales culture of the business to drive sales, increase profitability and deliver on annual targets for the business.
What you\'ll need to succeed
The ideal candidate is from a Trades/Merchant sales background who understands this market and its competitive nature. You will have experience of managing a team or a branch and have an understanding of the P&L components of managing a fast-paced retail business. Ideally, you have a good knowledge of the small builder and trades landscape of Edinburgh and its surrounds, but this is not essential. You perhaps are working for a larger business in a leadership role, but you have a real passion to drive change and make something your own and this is a great opportunity to take a leap with a very supportive, realistic and progressive employer.
