SEN Teaching Assistant - Manchester (M4)

A school in Manchester are recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant to offer support to children in Key Stage 1 with Special Educational Needs. This role will entail you working alongside the school SENCO and class teacher to support children with SEND, whether it be: Autism, Down-Syndrome, ADD/ADHD either 1:1 or within small groups.
The school have 550 children on roll, including a 50 place nursery. In addition to classrooms, the school facilitate a computing suite, music room, parent community room, forest school area and a large outdoor area with a MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area.) The school strives to provide a high standard of education within a caring and secure environment, with a committed and hard-working staff team.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs and/or behavioural difficulties.
- A nurturing and understanding personality.
- An ability to form strong relationships with children and young people.
- Ability to support children with class work, including maths and literacy, KS1.
- Be able to use behaviour management strategies, supported by the SENCO.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
