Clinical Lead Position

Position Details:
Hours: 36.75 hours per week
Working Schedule: Day shifts, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend coverage
Hourly Rate: Competitive
Location: Based in Halifax
Nursing Skills: Preference for specialization in Learning Disabilities or relevant experience. General and mental health trained nurses will be considered based on experience and adaptability. Possession of a driving license is preferred but not necessary.

Roles & Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Lead, you will oversee the clinical team in a 10-bedded service specializing in learning disabilities, mental health, and complex nursing needs. Responsibilities include:
- Providing support to a nursing team of 5 nurses, including assistance during preceptorships, probationary periods, revalidation of Pins and registration, and ensuring up-to-date training.
- Collaborating with the manager to ensure appropriate clinical oversight and workload distribution, which includes tasks such as assisting with new referrals, conducting supervisions, performing monthly audits, managing medication stock, reviewing and administering medication, conducting health reviews and appointments, updating health action plans and care planning, and assisting with MCA's, best interests, and Dols.
- Assisting with monthly finances and reviewing individual funding to meet service needs.
- Providing cover for nursing shifts during annual leave and maintaining strong relationships with the individuals supported by the service, ensuring awareness of service operations and facilitating improvements as needed.
