Job description
Provide senior leadership & provide Bronze Command/ delegated authority to act Act as the senior clinician out of hours to manage highly complex and challenging clinical scenarios and provide clinical support to aid decision making Support all wards in LPFT & manage staffing short falls in out of hours. Co-ordinate movement of staff if required Support the admission to discharge process across the wards to facilitate bed flow Act as a point of liaison with ULHT and LCC out of hours for routine issues Oversee the acuity and occupancy of the wards during the night & weekend period Ensure ALL bed capacity within the division is explored before consideration given to Out Of Area (OOA) Receive the OOA request form and authorise if appropriate Allocate in county beds, arrange transfers and manage acquisition of out of county beds should they be required Manage and triage need around secure patient transport To receive information about any patient incidents e.g. absconded, assaults Act as a point of liaison with on call consultants Oversee the acuity and occupancy of the wards during the night & weekend period Support the handover process of the most challenging patients between shifts and offer support and advice in the management of those with complex presentations Manage the Section 140 bed requests This person will be the only person who has the authority to call the On Call Manager if they are unable to resolve issues locally
