Job description

Provide a visible, accessible and authoritative presence, acting as a professional role model by providing leadership and support within the midwifery and multidisciplinary teams. Provide specialist advice and support on fetal monitoring matters to all health care professionals and in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary / multi-agency teams, facilitate development of the service in line with Better Births, Saving Babies Lives (SBL) and the 10 Year Long Term Plan recommendations within the hospital and community settings. Managerial and professional accountability for the effective delivery of care for women/people in accordance with national; regional and local guidelines. Ensure midwives and obstetricians contribute to the achievement of the Divisions and Trusts objectives and strategic planning. Promote the highest standards of audited research based clinical care, maintaining standards in accordance with UK law, NMC, Trust and EU guidelines. Work with colleagues to produce an Annual Report, providing statistics and recommendations for development of care. Contribute to maintenance of the database for CNST maternity incentive scheme safety action 8. Undertake all such reasonable other duties as may be required as part of the role. People who work together should train together therefore Fetal Wellbeing Midwife also contributes to the obstetricians training eg.
