Job description
The REACHE Team has an opportunity for a motivated individual with relevant experience to join the team as the Business Finance Officer.
The role is to support development of REACHE finance reporting and its operational work streams and by ensuring that high quality financial support is delivered and information is processed in accordance with procedures, in order to provide monthly reports. This involves working closely with colleagues both in NCA finance and within REACHE
You will also support the REACHE team in the process of meeting its objectives, assist in the preparation of budgetary and reporting systems and implementing procedures that enable effective financial management and efficient use of resources.
This is a pivotal role to contribute to helping REACHE to ensure it maintains its high quality of services whilst identifying ways in which to safely reduce costs. The post holder will be required to communicate with colleagues, managers and staff within the NCA and externally with other NHS organisations.
You will ideally be Certificate Level/AAT member with experience of working within a busy finance department. You will be proactive and highly motivated with strong IT skills, competent in the use of Microsoft Office and computerised ledger systems.

The post holder will support the production of high quality and timely financial management reports, calculate and prepare recharges of expenditure to external agencies.
To have an excellent understanding with management accounting techniques, policies, procedures and be expected to comply with all Trust policies, Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions with minimum supervision.
To calculate accruals and prepayments within strict deadlines for all periodic payments ensuring accurate records are maintained.
To complete, calculate and process of income and expenditure journals in accordance with the reporting timetable.
To complete, calculate and input of budget journals into the Finance system in line with the agreed procedure.
To analyse income and expenditure, identifying, investigating and reporting the reasons for any variances.
To contribute to the business planning and budget setting process, and to provide the ongoing and regular financial monitoring information and advice needed to support the effective management of these resources.
To contribute to the production of budget statements for budget holders within REACHE and to monitor costs and to ensure budgets are updated when necessary.
To be responsible for producing relevant, timely and accurate reports to budget holders; including identifying trends, the reasons for variances from forecasted income & expenditure & options to improve the position and providing reliable predictions for the year.
