The ICG is an industry-funded initiative that convenes the UK’s most progressive economic infrastructure clients in partnership with government (the Infrastructure & Projects Authority) and industry (Construction Leadership Council). They support key value chain members with a core purpose of leading the acceleration of improved delivery of UK infrastructure for the benefit of the economy, society and the environment, in a manner that is fully aligned with UK Government’s Transforming Infrastructure Performance agenda.
ICE provides support to the ICG in execution of its core purpose through agreed activities in support of the Management Board, Partnership Group, Programme Task Groups and Project 13 Network Management, Development Board and Pillar Groups.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support ICG as an industry-funded initiatives to deliver UK infrastructure for the benefit of the economy, society and the environment, in a manner that is fully aligned with UK Government’s Transforming Infrastructure Performance agenda.
- Works with Management Board chair to ensure that the appropriate organisations are represented in the Management Board, Partnership Group Task Groups and Project 13 Network Management, Development Board and Pillar Groups.
- Works with IPA and CLC in facilitating a route to and from government and industry on behalf of infrastructure clients and connects with other key industry and government bodies/think tanks/forums, providing direction and guidance back to the ICG.
- Provides support to the ICG in execution of its core purpose through agreed activities in support of the Management Board, Partnership Group, Programme Task Groups and Project 13 Network Management, Development Board and Pillar Groups.
- Manages the engagement of the Management Group, developing a strategy for engagement that includes the development of an annual report to be disseminated at an annual ICG networking event.
- Works with Management Board chair to annually review the ICG Strategy and report on progress against delivery.
- Develops and delivers consistent quality approach and methodology to programme delivery, reporting on key activities.
- Ensures the ICG team can carry out their respective tasks with training, experience, and the required resources.
- Engage regularly with senior stakeholders, managing effective relationships across the industry to achieve strong partnership, trust, and confidence.
- Ensure the goals/ objectives are clearly communicated, understood, and executed to relevant stakeholders within the ICG organisations and the wider industry and government, including managing stakeholder expectations.
- Identify, engage with, and manage subject matter expertise resources that can be leveraged to help with the more technical delivery aspects.
- Manages the ICG budget in line with ICE processes and manage the procurement of external services in line with ICE processes including ongoing management of the Project 13 Network provider Invision Power
What we are looking for:
- Project management skills, both traditional and agile, with sound judgement, creativity and the ability to use initiative to solve problems.
- Able to create processes and procedures for ideation, gathering requirements, prototyping and production.
- Ability to convene, facilitate and manage diverse groups of expert members and staff in workshops, focus groups and project teams.
- Knowledge of different innovation tools/methodologies and their practical applications
- Market-focused and with a clear interest in and understanding of emerging civil engineering issues.
- The ability to manage a range of stakeholders and independently manage areas of conflict and persuade internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in working on novel projects and proven ability to bring ideas from conception to completion.
- Experience in helping other people turn their ideas into reality; work with multiple fluid team structures which requires trust and integrity.
- Experience with global audiences representing different cultures
- Communication, influencing and negotiation skills; with both the drive to push through barriers and the ability to maintain relationships
- Team working and collaborative skills and the ability to manage projects with a diverse range of contributors
- Some exposure to working for or with a Professional Engineering Institution
