Primary Responsibilities:
- Purchases materials, parts, supplies, and equipment following established purchasing policies and procedures and optimizes price, delivery, and terms; typically manages suppliers with $5-$10 million per year of products and services; purchases complex items where detailed specification is involved.
- Monitors open order status for assigned suppliers and works to eliminate past due orders. Works with suppliers to ensure recovery plans are in place and being followed for past due orders . Recognizes and escalates problems on a timely basis.
- Works to drive continuous improvement in quality and delivery; includes requesting and follow-up on formal corrective actions and recovery plans.
- Works with Finance team to ensure invoices are processed correctly for payment
- Reviews, approves and issues purchase requisitions; follows up and expedites as necessary.
- Coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels.
- Coordinates with all interiors services & support tactical buyers to ensure shipments arrive at Leighton Buzzard and can be processed with no issues
Essential Criteria :
- Third level qualification in Business, Engineering or relevant degree
- Previous years of relevant experience is required
- Proficient in Excel, power point and MRP/ERP systems.
Desirable criteria :
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment and/or the Aerospace industry.
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement.
- Have CIPS/ APSICS or working towards a supply chain qualification.
