Job description
Our client is looking for an inspiring and creative Lighting Artist to join our growing team. This position is open to remote work for the right candidate, and relocation to our studio in Galway, Ireland is also possible. The Lighting Artist remote role comes with a generous salary and benefits package.
As our Lighting Artist, you will work alongside our creative team to ensure the game looks great and that we utilise every lighting trick in the book (plus some new ones) to enhance the gaming experience for our players.
To give you an idea of how this flexible role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do:
- Own the lighting of our environments, ensuring our characters, creatures and weapons look their best
- Work closely with the Art Director and Lead Artist to develop a consistent visual look throughout the game
- Collaborate closely with our Design, Art, Programming and Production teams
To apply, you will need at least 5 years of professional experience in the games industry working in lighting. You will also require the following:
- A proven track record of working on a AAA game in a production environment
- A portfolio reflecting high-quality game lighting
- A full understanding of real-time lighting pipelines, including areas such as tone mapping and post-processing
- A good understanding of the contribution of lighting to both gameplay and scene composition
- Experience lighting in Unreal Engine
