Within the EA Sports group, our award-winning Codemasters studio is looking for a Development Manager to elevate the capability of our Engine team. The team that creates the core technologies upon which our industry-beating racing games are created.
Our players come to us and expect the best graphics, the highest frame rates, the most reliable and solid racing experiences. Our artists demand the best tools to allow them to recreate the globe-spanning sport of Formula 1 in our Engine. Our engineers expect leading build systems and responsive coding environments to turn their magic into world class game experiences.
Reporting to the Technical Producer for the Engine, our team is in need of a Development Manager who can help by managing the daily operations of the F1 Engine disciplines – Tools, Graphics, Systems and Cinematics – and set them up for long-term success.
Responsibilities:
- You will run standups and planning rituals for technology teams
- You will work with each team member to ensure their work is tracked and priority is followed.
- You will build relationships with other Development Managers and Producers across F1 to facilitate communication, planning and meeting the priorities of dependent teams.
- You will assist the Engine Producer and Technical Directors in managing Engine roadmaps across multiple projects with overlapping timelines.
- You will assist Production and Technical Directors by tracking dependencies, ensuring optimal execution of Engine priorities against title and studio needs.
- Elevate and track technical risks and concerns to Senior leadership and facilitate steps to mitigation.
- You will assist Production and Technical Directors with identifying efficiencies, using best practice and effecting change to improve capability and strategic opportunity.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in the software/gaming industry in an operational role.
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and development best practices
- Experience working with Agile, Lean or related management techniques with teams as they ship products.
- Experience of product management software, specifically Atlassian products
- Desirable experience working with teams that are across multiple time zones and working in fully remote or hybrid roles.
