The role

- Design, develop & maintain applications to enableingestion,rapid access, &analysisofdata to accelerate discovery & enable decisions across Digital, Bioinformatics and Products teams.
- Maintain infrastructure that allows us to process, integrate & analyse biodiversity & geospatial data.
- Collaborate with colleagues to rapidly specify, implement & deploy fit-to-purpose data pipelines.
- Evaluate commercial &open-source toolsto improve our data pipelines.
- Maintain data engineering documentation.
- Participate in Sprints, Scrums & other ceremonies.
- Produce business updates/reports.

About you
- BSc/MSc in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related field.
- Programming experience in scripting languages such as Python or Go, using versioncontrol, Git & continuous integration environments.
- Used to designing relational schemas to capture & represent multi-type data.
- Ableto design complex queries to generate clear representations of data from complex relational schemasacross SQL/NoSQL platforms.
- Nice to Have
- Software experience with Geospatial technologies.
- Experience with a cloud data warehouse/data lake.
- Experience of cloud migrations.
