Hydraulic Press Engineer

Department: Maintenance
Reporting To: Maintenance Management
Supervisory Responsibility: Assist with training Somers apprentices

Hydraulic Press Engineer Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious Hydraulic Press Engineer to provide comprehensive engineering support for our hydraulic press systems. You will be responsible for the preventative and reactive maintenance of these systems, ensuring their reliability and uptime to support production demands. This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to improvement projects and share your knowledge by assisting with training our apprentices.

Hydraulic Press Engineer Key Responsibilities:

- Safety First: Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all company safety protocols and procedures.
- Maintenance Expertise: Perform both preventative and reactive maintenance tasks on hydraulic press systems, ensuring their smooth operation.
- Breakdown Response: Respond promptly to all reactive breakdowns on the hydraulic presses, minimizing downtime.
- Production Focus: Demonstrate flexibility to adapt your work schedule to meet the needs of production.
- Inventory Management: Manage critical spare parts inventory for the hydraulic press systems.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in projects to improve the reliability and performance of the hydraulic presses.
- System Monitoring: Regularly service and monitor the hydraulic systems to identify and address potential issues proactively.
- Apprenticeship Support: Assist the Maintenance Management team in training Somers apprentices on hydraulic press systems (optional).

Hydraulic Press Engineer Requirements:

- Strong understanding of hydraulic principles and their application in industrial machinery.
- Experience in troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic systems.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to safety and a proactive approach to maintenance.
