Pay Rate: up to £222 per day PAYE depending on experience (tbc)
Hours per week: 37 Monday to Friday, normal working hours
This opening assignment is for 3 months
City: BOURNEMOUTH

Hybrid working role. Predominantly remote working but attendance at the Civic Centre offices will be required occasionally - dependant on business need - to attend team meetings, provide support to the services as required. First day attendance is compulsory to collect laptop and to begin induction process.
Experienced Management Accountant required to provide support to the services within the Council. This includes, but not limited to; budget monitoring, salary monitoring, advising on expenditure and procurement requests, attending budget monitoring meetings with service personnel at various levels, provide costs for fees & charges, ability to decipher central government communications.
Key Responsibilities
Support the financial aspects for services, ensuring solutions are established that make effective use of resource in a demonstrably fair way whilst meeting the changing demand that the Council faces
Provide complex, expert advice that is evidence based, in accordance with regulations and policies, and that will support service management in delivering their services and support informed decision making
Manage and monitor service budgets, ensuring best fit with strategic direction of the service and a holistic approach to business planning to maximise outcomes for customers
Proactively identify and develop the financial service by interpreting legislative requirements and developing processes that allow for national and local changes as well as providing financial modelling for services and projects
Support the completion of the statutory accounts, setting a balanced budget and ensuring financial control and reporting is maintained and developed

Qualifications:
CCAB/CIMA or equivalent
Knowledge:
Knowledge of the current finance issues facing Local Government
Experience:
Previous experience in a Local Government finance environment and supporting senior service management teams
Local government experience in an Accountant role
Skills & Abilities:
Must be able to interpret financial reports, manage queries pro-actively and use initiative to establish robust processes
