Job description
OCU Group continues through 2024 with its significant growth. As part of this, we now have a new opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to join OCU Northavon (Part of the wider OCU Group) in Exeter and South Moulton.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- As a Project Engineer, it will be your responsibility to deliver Electrical, Mechanical and Civil projects within the Water industry.
- Applicants are required to have relevant engineering qualifications in your chosen field as well as having an excellent understanding of health and safety.
- Applicants are expected to have, or have previously held the following qualifications: ECS, SSSTS, SMSTS, iOSH, Confined Space Training, EUSR.
- If you are successful in this role, and do not hold some of the above qualifications, OCU Northavon will support you with any training requirements.
- With the support from Operations Manager and Project Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day running of projects alongside the overall delivery team.
- You will be expected to consult with internal departments such as design teams, commercial teams, health & safety teams, commissioning teams and delivery teams to ensure the projects you are managing keep our people safe, adhere to company policy and to ensure excellent client satisfaction.
- Conducting initial site survey of proposed works and creating job packs; highlighting and raising any areas of safety concern.
- Responsible for productivity, compliance.
- Operations liaison and planning.
- Management of gangers and support teams.
- Site meetings to discuss works / timescales, site conditions and resource requirements.
- Regular liaising with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders.
- Managing customer complaints and closeouts.
- Weekly planning, track sheets, record keeping, and resource bookings as required.
- HSE improvement plans & coaching of team members.
- Weekly site inspections for HSE & quality.
- Development and production of RAMS as required.
- Manage subcontractors & direct labour on site.
- Solve site problems and report to PM.
- Maintain site records & raise any additional works with QS.
- Closeout paperwork and job pack at end of schemes.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Experienced in M&E and MEICA works delivery.
- SSSTS.
- SMSTS.
- iOSH.
- ECS.
- CSCS card holder.
- Confined Space training or awareness.
- EUSR.
- Ability to measure and record daily progress accurately.
- Knowledge of Electrical installation, Mechanical installation and Civil shoring and deep excavations.
- Microsoft office suite fluent including Microsoft Projects.
- Strong Safety Background.
- Previous Water experience beneficial.
