Accountant – International Law Firm
Description:
I am delighted to be retained by a leading Legal Firms in Belfast who are seeking to speak with experienced Accountants , in particular people that are coming with goo d experience preparing and posting month end journals and working with budget holders to produce forecasts and capex plans. Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience from Big Four or similar sized firms. This position will be a key hire in to a team of five people within a larger 30 person function.

The Role:
- Preparation of statutory/tax compliance, including VAT, Payroll and entity-level taxes
- Support Accounts Payable, Payroll and Interfirm invoicing/settlement
- Co-ordinate and support local audits and ensure accurate preparation of the a udited financial statements
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of accounting transactions in management and statutory ledgers
- Preparing annual and quarterly accounts required under the solicitors’ regulations, including resolution of any queries or issues
- Responsible for banking and cash flow management
- Look after the effective internal controls 9including balance sheet reconciliations) and compliance with the firm’s policies, procedures and best practices
The Person:
- Ability to interact and consult with senior leaders regarding finance processes, guidelines and compliances
- ACA Chartered or ACCA Certified Accountant
- Good track record of system expertise and financial accounting
- Strong in project manage and systemic thinking
- Ability to handle a high volume of work, demonstrating excellent administration skills and attention to detail.
- Aptitude for building relationships, influencing upwards and laterally , taking ownership of tasks, and keeping colleagues informed of progress.
- High level of commercial acumen
- Working proficiency with MS Office (particularly excel) and other tools
