Job description
Head of Commercial (Residential Developer).
£100,000 + Package.
Central London.
Cognisant have been instructed to appoint a Head of Commercial on behalf of an established, Residential Development business.
You will lead the commercial department and will ultimately be responsible for the cost control of projects including procurement of subcontractors and materials in line with Build & Budget requirements.
Position Summary:
- Lead and oversee the commercial department.
- Directing daily cost control activities, with oversight and reporting responsibilities extending to group-level interactions.
- Supervising technical support systems to analyse and report on cost and cash flow vis-à-vis budget allocations.
- Establishing and maintaining an efficient system for subcontractor identification and procurement, adhering to Group Tender protocols when applicable, and managing the procurement of goods, materials, and designs.
- Implementing a payment framework for subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers, aligning with Group policies and procedures.
- Ensuring timely and accurate reporting to the Managing Director and Divisional Board, adhering to prescribed formats and schedules.
Skills & Experience Required
- Client-side experience working within a Central London Residential Developer
- Proven experience leading a commercial team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work well under pressure.
