Trainee Driller/Labourer
We are looking for a Trainee Driller /Labourer to join Holequest Ltd to assist in all aspects of our geotechnical and rotary drilling services. The trainee driller/labourer will help move, set up and operate drilling rigs and related equipment to drill test holes for geotechnical engineering studies. Site investigation/geotechnical drilling is done to determine the soil characteristics on sites to be developed as building, roadways and bridges. Work is outdoors. The work is physically demanding.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a team spirit and will be able to support the driller on the field in whichever way necessary.
Duties include are but not limited to;
• Assists with operation of drilling rig and support equipment effectively
• Aids in maintaining tools, prepping for assignments, setting up equipment, sampling, classifying samples, and clean-up
• Assists in loading and unloading equipment/machinery/tools
• Assists on the working floor- normal drilling procedures
• Follows all safety regulations
• Performs material inventory as needed/assigned
• Any other duties as assigned
This is a permanent position, hours are –
Monday to Thursday 07.30 – 16.30 and Friday 07.30 – 15.30, however earlier starts and later finishes together with overnight stays during the week are a regular occurrence.
Qualifications
CSCS Card preferred
Driving licence preferred as most locations are within remote areas with no public transport available
