About Common Wheel
Common Wheel is a well-established mental health charity based in Glasgow. We provide meaningful activity for peoplewith mental illness and dementia. Our participatory weekly workshops take place in care homes across Glasgow,wards at Gartnavel Royal Hospital, two purpose built cycle workshops in Maryhill and Bridgeton, our base atGartnavel Royal Hospital and at the Climbing Centre in Maryhill. We work with over 400 participants per yearproviding weekly group activities in music, art, bike building and climbing. We also support volunteeropportunities across the organisation. Our aims are to improve mental wellbeing, reduce isolation, increaseskills and challenge stigma. We are a value-based organisation with a person-centred approach. Background to this post
This is a new post created to strengthen the financial position of the organisation. The project manager is reducingher time to 3 days per week and the fundraiser will work closely with her, the other members of the teamincluding core staff, finance manager and treasurer to develop and deliver a robust funding strategy thatachieves our aims of:
We know that funding landscape is very competitive, but we have a good track record of consistently delivering risingincome streams to fund our activity targets, whilst achieving outcomes for our clients, and retaining acommitted team. We also now have the opportunity to maximise our social enterprise potential through developingthe retail activity in our bike workshops.
The Role
Based at our office at Gartnavel Royal Hospital and with the option for some hybrid working, you will work closelywith the project manager and the core staff team to resource our strategic ambitions. Common Wheel has an activeand engaged Board of trustees and a committed team of 8 core staff. We have a good track record of attractingfunding from various sources and have good working relationships with current and past funders. You will haveaccess to an archive of past bids and reports to inform your work going forward.
You will have access to Upshot, our monitoring, evaluation and learning tool where we keep both quantitative andqualitative data.
This post is more than writing funding applications, it is about proactively seeking opportunities, partnerships andsponsorships that broaden our income sources. It is about telling the story of
Common Wheel to different stakeholders and on different platforms to raise our profile and position us as a leadingmental health charity but also to actively promote our contribution to the circular economy and activesustainable travel through our bike building and repairs.
We are looking for someone who is an excellent communicator, who can think strategically has an eye for detail and anexcellent track record. You will be organised and methodical but have the creativity and vision to identifyopportunities and manage risk. We have ambitions to grow the social enterprise arm of our activities and welcomesomeone with experience in brand development and retail expansion. This is an exciting time to join theorganisation as we move forward with plans to be a more stable, greener, and equitable organisation. You willplay a pivotal role in helping us to achieve our goals and make a real difference to people with mental illnessand dementia.

We are seeking a Communications Assistant to support and deliver the creation of inspiring communications and eventsto maximise Scottish Families’ reach and engagement across Scotland.
This post will work alongside our Communications Development Officer and assist with our content creation, socialmedia presence, storytelling efforts, campaigning, media relations, and support our whole team with theircommunication needs. This role is fun and rewarding with a broad range of projects to get involved in. You willcreate a place for family members to share their experiences, build and maintain our online community, promoteour events and encourage donations, and assist with making sure we are reaching more families across Scotlandthrough advertising, campaigning and collaborations.
The post is located at Edward House, Glasgow G2 3EX, with staff currently working between home and office. It isexpected that the post holder will be required to work occasional evenings and weekends. This post will be partof Scottish Families’ staff team and be supervised by the Communications Development Officer.
The post-holder will be responsible for maintaining our social media channels, including creating content, findingopportunities, and engaging with family members, supporters and partners; actively monitoring our media profile;supporting with storytelling efforts including sourcing leads, interviewing family members, copywriting stories,etc. to champion family voices; supporting our staff with internal communications; supporting our campaigningefforts including content creation, partnership working, advertising, and attending regular meetings withpartners; managing the administration of our Communications Advisory Group; and supporting our staff with theircommunication requests.
We are seeking applicants who are educated to HNC level, vocational qualification (level 4) or a relevantprofessional qualification, with a proven record of working across social media channels (specifically X,Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn); creating content for online purposes such as graphics, films and audio;collaborating with partners on projects and campaigns; and delivering campaigns with set targets and audiences.Applicants should have knowledge of new communication developments and trends, and of how to boost engagementwith supporters on social media. Candidates should be able to work as a supportive team member, contributingideas and assisting colleagues; be a competent user of social media channels and content creation software suchas Canva; be skilled in storytelling and collecting stories from supporters; and be able to create video contentsuch as Instagram Reels and TikToks using phones and relevant software, with excellent copywriting skills.
Tiny Changes is Scotland’s first national young people’s mental health charity. We run projects with young leadersthat help young minds feel better. The charity was set up in memory of artist and Frightened Rabbit frontmanScott Hutchison. Through his music and art Scott made tiny changes that had a big impact on people from allwalks of life.
We believe that Scotland’s young people deserve great mental health, and we believe in their insight and innovationto make this possible. We exist to nurture the talent of young people to find solutions that work for them.
In three years, we’ve funded 69 innovative mental health ideas - from bubble therapy with refugees to peer-led crisisprevention cafe and d/Deaf youth wellbeing resources - supporting over 4,000 children and young people, withmany of them leading change in their communities. The Tiny Changes team is growing all the time. We currently have 6 Trustees and will be looking to recruit another 2trustees to join the Board later this year. Role Summary
As a freelance operations consultant at Tiny Changes, you will support the interim CEO with the management of allcharity and day to day operational activities, continuing the development of the charity in line withorganisational objectives and strategic direction. Working closely with our small team, you will contribute tothe overall direction of charity-wide operations. Supporting the management of co-production (youth leadprojects), fundraising, human resources, health and safety and equality diversity and inclusion, to ensure ourprocesses are up to date, compliant, meet the overall needs of the organisation and reflect our values.

The Graphic Designer’s primary responsibility will involve developing effective design solutions for various printand digital media platforms. Collaborating closely with the Creative Designer, you will provide design advice,support, and creative solutions for campaigns, publications, and digital outputs.
