Job description

Space Youth Project is looking for an enthusiastic person to join our board of trustees who help oversee the deliverance of the amazing support for LGBT+ young people in Dorset offered by Space Youth Project.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for someone with financial/accounting experience to provide support with the organisation's finances and funding. This position has a minimum requirement of 5 hours a month, including attending monthly board meetings and carrying out supportive actions. Our charity is based in Dorset but this position can be done remotely!

• A commitment to the ethos and work of the organisation
• A willingness to abide by the policies and guidelines operating within Space Youth Project
• To maintain and uphold the good name and reputation of the charity with good conduct
• A willingness to advocate for the whole LGBT+ community, including transgender and non-binary identities
• Background and experience with financial management

What difference will you make?

Because of the nature of homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, etc.; LGBT+ young people are disadvantaged, marginalised, and vulnerable. In order to address these issues, Space Youth Project provides support, advice, and a safe social environment for LGBT+ young people. Within this role, you will be directly providing and impacting the multitudes of support we can offer the young LGBT+ community and ensuring we can sustain our services.
