Job description

Veterinary Surgeon - Nottinghamshire

A fabulous opportunity has come our way for a Veterinary Surgeon role at a RCVS accredited practice that has been established in the area for over 25 years and has built up a large loyal client base. You will be joining a small but friendly team of Veterinary Professionals whose focus is providing the highest patient and client care possible. They are very supportive and are always on hand to offer any help when needed.

This small animal practice is very well-equipped offering a range of services including digital radiography, ultrasound, ECG, an in-house laboratory and much more. They are a growing practice who are looking for the right candidate to join their dedicated and progressive team. The team has 11 members in total, including 2 vets, one of whom is working towards their certificate in Small Animal Medicine, 3 nurses, 1 student nurse and a great support team. They always aim to offer a professional, friendly, and personal service to many small animal clients. CPD is encouraged and provided in order to maintain their delivery of the most up-to-date animal care, within a practice which fully encourages and supports your development.

The successful candidate will ideally need to have some post-graduate experience and have the ability to make decisions. You will need to have interpersonal skills and a compassionate nature. There will be occasions when sole charge will be required however you will be supported by an experienced team who will always be on hand to help. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver a first-class, first opinion veterinary service supported by the experienced, fully qualified nursing and clinical teams. With the clinical freedom to follow and work up cases to a high standard, you will make a positive impact from day one and will be keen to contribute to the continued growth of the practice.

Their vets usually work 40 hours over 5 days per week, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:30am 7pm. However, they are in the fortunate position to be extremely flexible and can offer part time, flexi time and a bespoke rota to accommodate school hours, all to fit around your needs and offer a suitable work life balance. There are no out of hours requirements for this role and you will be a part of a fair weekend rota of 1 in 3 weekends Saturday only, which can be taken either paid or in lieu.

The practice is located in the historical market town of Newark. Situated on the River Trent and sitting between the Peak District National Park and Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Newark is the perfect location for an outdoors enthusiast.
